MIGRATIONS, BORDERS AND FRONTIERS

curated by Alessandra Marchi and Mediterranea Online

Friday, September 8th

From 10 am to 1 pm | M3 Teatro Massimo

The Mediterranean borders: reflection on culture of difference through Antonio Gramsci’s thought

curated by Mediterranea Online

“To find the real identity under the apparent differentiation and contradiction and to find the substantial diversity under the apparent identity:  this is an essential quality of the critic of ideas and of the historian of social development” (Antonio Gramsci, Notebook 24, special notebook dedicated to Journalism). By overcoming the conformism of the mainstream press, we will try to describe the phenomenon of migration as analysis of differences.

Sunday, September 10th

From 3 pm to 5 pm | M3 Teatro Massimo

Southern Questions

curated by Alessandra Marchi

It is estimated that 1 to 7 people in the world are ‘migrant’: wars, dictatorships, lack of economic opportunities and climate changes are among those factors fostering migration circuits. Antonio Gramsci’s analysis of the forms of colonialism and subalterns will be the major instruments through which reflect on the relations between migrations and neoliberalism, but also on the forms of – social, artistic, ecological – resistance in the Mediterranean area to the dominant hegemony.

EXPERIMENTAL PEDAGOGY

Audience in action

curated by Micaela Deiana

Friday, September 8th

From 3 pm to 5 pm | C.ARTE.C

Sunday, September 10th

From 3 pm to 5 pm | CARTEC

The workshop, structured in two meetings, will be the occasion to think and imagine a new experience of museum fruition: open, public, and participated, out of the grids of the disciplines of the history of art and museology. In the first meeting, we will look at how European Contemporary Art museums are experimenting radical educational tools directed to the public, in order to bring out new individual and collective identities. Starting from the collection of the Municipal Gallery in Cagliari, in the second meeting, we will translate these reflections into new praxis, tools for future exhibitions and curatorial paths.

Ludic Experience

curated by Juan Sandoval

Saturday, September 9th

From 10 am to 1 pm | M3 Teatro Massimo

The workshop aims to examine the game as a participatory, temporary and mobile device through which establish forms of interaction with communities by opening to new possible meanings and uses of public space. In particular, the game “(d) estructura”, a board game created by the collective el puente_lab and the artist Mariangela Aponte, will be a case study for observing, collecting data and analyzing human relations inside a community and its territory. Participants will be invited to “play” by experimenting directly with the operating mechanisms and responding to some of the major issues they face.

GRAMSCI POSTMONUMENT

The back of the Monument

curated by Lisa Parola

Saturday, September 9th

From 3 pm to 5 pm | C.ARTE.C

Sunday, September 10th

From 10 am to 1 pm | Piazza Gramsci

Two meetings of reflection on the relationship between monument, history and artistic practice will end with a moment of active confrontation to create a future monument dedicated to Antonio Gramsci. “Characterized by certain reliable data – a name, a fact, a date, a place – the monuments, when” overturned “, are cancelled, so that they also delete the memory for which they were born. Busts that are like abstract shapes laid out in a timeless log. As the monument is always located in streets and squares by authority, over time it becomes a sitting and meeting place or even a point of orientation, which implies a shift of function that slowly changes sense also in relation to the community and history.” Lisa Parola
