Spin-Off of the University of Cagliari as an interdisciplinary design and research cooperative society, Sardarch is a research laboratory that studies the phenomenon of urban and territorial transformations and proposes strategies for intervention in the specific territory of Sardinia. Currently directed by Nicolò Fenu and Matteo Lecis Cocco-Ortu, Sardarch promotes forms of research-action through co-design, urban planning, and local development processes focusing on the needs of people and territories at first. Engaged in urban planning as a process based on active participation and awareness of the values of the landscape and purely architectural projects, the collective designs interventions on local community development and public space, described in the publications “Verso un’urbanistica della collaborazione”, “Spop Istantanea dello Spopolamento in Sardegna” and “Barbagia. Arcipelago Italia”.
